I purchased the car July 19, 1976 from William DeSimone of Everett MA through an add in the local newspaper. He said he purchased the car from an Italian Prince in Italy while on a 3 month vacation to celebrate his retirement. I am not sure when he purchased the car or the details. According to Marco Fazio at Automobilismo Storico Alfa Romeo this Veloce was manufactured on 25th October 1960 and sold on the 26th June 1961 in Rome,Italy . The original body color was graphite grey. It is a European model with metric dash gages and side turn indicators on the front fenders. I have driven this car 2-3 thousand miles car every summer since I bought it. I rebuilt the engine in 1978(??) and did a cosmetic restoration in winter 1991. The body was stripped to bare metal and repaired as needed. All the chrome was redone, new windshield, and all weatherstripping was replaced. New seat upholstery and carpets were installed. I maintain the car as a driver for enjoyment rather than a show piece.
